“A Road Without Us” is a student-led short film written by Caoilfhinn Rauwerdink. The film is a coming-of-age story about three best friends searching for their own direction in life. This story of tension and friendship will leave you with feelings of hope and introspection.
Mad Rabbit Studios is a group of student film makers who worked on "A Road Without Us", a student film.
Pre-Production - Assisant Camera:
During the Pre-Production stage of this film, I worked with the Director of Photography and Gaffer to design shot lists, lighting setups, and storyboards. I also worked to create a wish list of additional equipment for the production. For example, additional gels, ND filters, and other extra equipment maintained by the Communication Arts Department. Also consulted with the Art Director on props and costumes to prepare for post-production color correction.
Production - Assisant Camera:
The Production was shot over the course of 10 days, plus an additional 2 pick up days. During production I was responsible for maintaining camera equipment, along with proper set up and take down. I also pulled focus for all shots and assisted the Director of Photographer in setting up and keeping track of set up for scenes. Worked with gaffer to set up lighting for each scene. Filled out shot log for each take of each set up.
Post-Production - Colorist:
For my Post-Production contribution, I was assigned the role of the Colorist. I color corrected and color graded each shot to create a seamless look for the film. In addition, I did minor masking and editing on shots to even out exposure changes, skin tones, and hue changes.
I animated this version of our logo that our Art Director designed.
