This project was created as a part of CA 355 - Intro to Video Production. The goal of the project was to create a short documentary centered around a topic that was important to us. Throughout COVID-19 the Fencing Club of UW-Madison was unable to practice while the Varsity teams with UW Athletics were given every chance an opportunity to continue their sport. This video highlights the disparity between varsity athletics and club sports.
A silent short film created as a part of "CA 355 - Intro to Video Production''. It's Valentine's day and a woman finds out she has a secret admirer. The goal of the film was to practice storytelling through visual techniques alone. This limitation pushed me to focus on shot angles, and set design.
This short series is focused on highlighting sport clubs within the UW-Madison Recreation & Wellbeing department. Rec Well supports more than 50 sport clubs on campus. However, with that many clubs, lesser known clubs can be hard to find by students. I developed this project from ideation to final edits, scheduling my own shoots, developing shot lists, and putting it together. The series produced 11 videos total, all posted on the Rec Well instagram (@uwrecwell).
This video was for a campaign that was run at the beginning of the school year for new and returning students to find something on campus that gets them moving. The video highlights all the different programs that Rec Well offers that students can get involved in.
Wisconsin Welcome includes all the events that different departments put on for students, welcoming them back to campus. This short video, posted on Instagram and Tik Tok, used a current trend to show all the events and the students at the events.
Throughout my time on the UW-Madison Fencing Club, I've developed multiple highlight videos from various tournaments. This video was filmed and edited in the 2021-2022 season at the Lawrence University Duals Meet. The challenge with these videos is gathering enough footage with enough variety to keep audiences interested. To supplement this, I spend a lot of time in post-production, adding transitions, effects, and music.
Every year in March, Rec Well hosts Active Badger Day. A day to encourage badgers to get moving and be active. Each year, there are tons of free activities and events. However, most students are excited about the giveaways. To promote the 2023 designs and giveaways, another student and I created this video.
